BEST WINGS IN BERKS 2004, 2005 And 2006 Celebrity judges at the Berks County Chamber Marketplace chose Canal Street Hot Wings as the BEST IN BERKS for the third year. Seven judges decided among participating Berks restaurants that Canal Street Hot Wings should retain their title. During an evening of blind testing, with requests for still more wings, the judges including local sports and media personalities, business people and a Judge tasted a variety of flavors and styles. Canal Street is pleased to offer our wining recipe everyday. In fact Monday is a day to truly celebrate with All You Can Eat from 6 pm to 9pm. Congratulations are also in order for the Peanut Bar, 2006 winner of the Peoples Choice Award. If you want the BEST IN BERKS you have to come downtown. |

$1 MILLION Berks County and especially the “Jail Birds” that participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) lock-up have over a million reasons to celebrate their generosity. This year the money raised by the “Jail Birds” will exceed $1.2 million. Over six years we have averaged more than $215,000 each year. The largest contribution of any “lock-up” in the entire COUNTRY! This bears repeating. The MDA raises more in Berks County at the Canal Street Restaurant “lock-up” than in any major US city or county. Coordinating this success requires months of
persistent hard work, our thanks to the MDA office and staff for their
tireless efforts. |

BERKS TALKLINE GOLF BOWL X It is hard to imagine but this year Berks TALKLINE celebrated ten years of successful fundraising with 19 holes of miniature golf strategically placed in Canal Street Restaurant. Canal Street has been home to the annual Golf Bowl nine of the ten years and looks forward to many more. Held each January the Golf Bowl encourages teams, corporate and private, to raise funds for their golf effort. These dollars have been a major source of support and recognition for Berks TALKLINE, a community service designed to provide a trained ear for local residents facing life’s most difficult issues. 2006 Corporate Leadership Award Canal Street Pub & Restaurant was honored with the Berks TALKLINE 2006 Corporate Leadership Award. The restaurant was recognized for unselfishly sharing our facility and significantly contributing to enhancing the quality of life for individuals served by Berks TALKLINE. |

LEGACY BREWING COMPANY Sometimes things just work. The right people, the right ideas and great beer. Our neighbors, Legacy Brewing Co. have collected the right ingredients. Today our taps flow with all six of the Legacy beers and often feature new and seasonal brews before they hit the streets. Principals, Scott Baver and Dave Gemmel, created Legacy Brewing Co. Both gentlemen bring years of experience to the company. That experience and a fantastic product have put Legacy on the map. Of course we think the best place to have a Legacy is at Canal Street, but you will find them in restaurants and bars throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. Legacy is appearing at brew fests too. So, if you like hand crafted beers make it a point to pick up a Legacy. |
